Bio
Dr. Shakera Moreland, also known as “The HIM Concierge” earned her B.S. degree in Health Informatics and MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Management from Western Governors University in 2012 and 2014, respectively. In addition, Shakera completed her doctoral coursework in Health Sciences with a concentration in Leadership and Organizational Behavior at A. T. Still University in 2020 where she focused on Physician Burnout due to EHRs. Shakera earned her RHIA in 2012 and CCA and CPC in 2010. She has also acquired the CRCR and CSBI credential from the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Throughout her career, she has seen a range of different aspects of HIM, from patient access on the front end to revenue integrity on the back end, and uses that experience to help others along their professional journey. Shakera currently works as a Course Lead and Adjunct Professor alongside her independent ventures as Owner of HIM Concierge Services LLC, where she shares her gift of motivation, relationship building, and development with her students and clients.
