Bio
Violinist Amos Fayette began to play the violin at the age of two and made his solo debut at the age of 8. At the age of 12, he was admitted to the prestigious Juilliard School Pre-College Division where he studied with Shirley Givens. Collegiate studies were completed at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, MD and The Juilliard School in New York, NY. He continues to maintain an active performing and teaching career from his home base in Cleveland, OH.
Described as dark, intense, and a musical wizard, Amos has appeared as a soloist with the Orquesta Filarmonica de Medellin, The Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, New World Symphony Orchestra, and more, while presenting recitals in Florida, New York, Iowa, Delaware, and Maryland. His experience as an orchestral musician has led to guest concertmaster appearances with professional orchestras in New York, Tucson, Annapolis, Cedar Rapids, Miami, and more.
Equally at home in the teaching studio, Amos has held teaching appointments at the famed New World School of the Arts of Miami, FL, the Center for Preparatory Studies in Music at the Aaron Copland School of Music of Queens College, The Music Settlement of Cleveland, OH, and his highest achieving students have gone on to collegiate careers at Lynn University, Northwestern University, Oberlin College, and Cleveland Institute of Music, just to name a few.
In his spare time, Amos enjoys cooking, spending time with his family, learning about automotive history, and spending time with his family’s menagerie of pets, including a ball python, a bearded dragon, and cat. His violin was made in 2012 by Long Island luthier Edward Maday.
This workshop would be beneficial to anyone trying to improve their music practice routine. The instructor guided us through a daily - weekly routine of practicing to optimize time and achieve the most productivity. He encouraged questions and discussions but also stayed on task, leaving the students with guidelines to have a structured, achievable practice routine.
It was well worth the time spent in this workshop.
